Workshops

FDPE organizes research workshops aimed at doctoral students. The main purpose of these workshops is to offer the doctoral students opportunities to present their research and research proposals and to get prepared comments from a Finnish expert on the research field. Senior researchers can also participate in the workshops.

Each seminar group organizes 1 or 2 workshops each year, lasting for 1 or 2 days. FDPE is able to reimburse Finnish doctoral students in economics presenting a paper at a workshop for their travel and accommodation costs. Please contact the FDPE office in advance.

Participation Requirements

The policy of FDPE is that each full-time doctoral student from the 2nd year onwards registers for one primary seminar group in the annual FDPE enrolment form and participates in the workshops of the group (with or without a paper). FDPE will monitor participation and send reminders to those students who are registered members of a group but have not registered for a particular workshop.

It is possible and indeed we invite students to participate in more than one seminar group. As this is on top of the FDPE requirements, we do not monitor participation in more than one group's activities.
