Basic Information

  • Prerequisites for the course: FDPE core courses on Microeconomic Theory and Macroeconomic Theory or equivalent

The course is given in English. Doctoral students not enrolled in FDPE, including students in foreign universities, can apply for the course. See How to Apply for the FDPE courses or application form.

FDPE recommends that the course is acknowledged by the student's own university/department with 2 credits/3 ECTS credit points.

Field courses organized by FDPE can be included in the student-specific field of studies. These courses have to be accepted as part of the doctoral studies by the students' home department before the grades can be registered. Please note that the students' home departments are responsible for registering the grades according to their own requirements. FDPE gives the students, on request, a certificate of the courses passed within the programme.

Exam

  • Time: June 2, 2006, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Places:
    • AT THE PARTICIPANTS' OWN DEPARTMENTS
    • but in Helsinki only at one university where all students living in or near Helsinki can take the exam: Helsinki School of Economics, Arkadia building, Lapuankatu 6, room E-124.
  • Please register for the exam by sending an e-mail to fdpe-hecer@helsinki.fi (and let us know where you want to take the exam).

Travel Grants

  • Nordic Network in Economics (NNE) will provide travel grants for a limited number of Nordic and Estonian doctoral economics students for participating in this course. Please apply for travel grants on line.
  • The Society for economics professors and docents in Finland (Kansantaloustieteen professorien ja dosenttien yhdistys ry) gives travel grants to doctoral economics students, please see FDPE website Financial Aid.
